One recurring theme that many artists since the Renaissance have explored is that of the Vitruvian Man, of which Leonardo’s is the most famous, based upon the proportions of the Human Form laid out by Vitruvius in his 10 Books of Architecture.
This piece I have been working on for over 6 years, coming back to it every few months, taking it a little deeper each time. I have probably 3-4 years ’til I will consider this piece complete.
All my paints in a sense are living, meaning that I continue working on them throughout my life. Each layer another recorded memory of the many facets of within this life.
After doing this for 8 years now, I love how they are becoming visual recollections of my journey through this human experience. They help me access those memories and become a visual connection to past thoughts and emotions.
I have found that it is all an added dimension to my work.
This jouney, in my hopes, is just beginning …
